World Wide Knit in Public Day

Better Living Through Stitching Together

By Candace Mangold June 5, 2018

**The event in Quilcene this weekend has been canceled due to weather.**

This Saturday, June 9 is World Wide Knit in Public Day!

This annual event is held the second Saturday in June as a way for people to come together, with knitting needles in hand, and show the world that everyone can knit. Knitting and crocheting is a beloved past time for all ages and this day showcases the variety of crafters that enjoy this past time. In many communities there are a host of crafter groups that meet regularly, but that never interact with one another. On this day, you're encouraged to come to a meet up and get to know the other crafters in your community.

Local Knitters Unite!

This Saturday in Quilcene from noon - 4 p.m. you can meet up with fellow knitters and crocheters at the Pearl G. Thrasher Memorial Garden at 294963 HWY 101. Local merchant, Fiber and Clay is hosting the event in hopes of bringing the community together in a unique way. On hand will be yarn, knitting needles, and crochet hooks … everything you need to get started! There will be raffle prizes too! Fiber and Clay is providing hot tea (a crafter's beverage of choice) and is requesting that fellow knitters bring potluck items to share during the event.

So if you feel like you're unraveling from the stress of daily life, take a break … come and knit with us and share a cuppa in the park. We promise to help you get your knit together!

A community that knits together, stays together!
