New Infant Child Care Center Opens in Port Townsend's Uptown

By Candace Mangold August 30, 2018

I don't have to tell you how hard it is to find childcare in Jefferson County. But, it's doubly hard if you need childcare for an infant.

Starting September 11, 2018, a new infant care facility for babies 0-12 mo. will open it's doors at Trinity United Methodist Church (609 Taylor Street) in Port Townsend in the Uptown historical district. While this won't be a licensed facility, it will be staffed with loving volunteers who have all been extensively trained and background checked.

The hourly rate for care is $10 per hour. They accept cash or check. Financial assistance may be available.

You must make a reservation 2-4 weeks.

They are currently taking reservations for Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. They have availability for up to 6 infants.

They are looking for more volunteers to staff the care center.

If you're interested in being a volunteer or looking for childcare for your infant, please contact Kristelle Jose at 346-298-3683 or email at nurseryUMCtrinity@gmail.com.
