Private Eye Program

K-4th Grade STEM Class at New Day Academy in Port Townsend

By Candace Mangold, Olympic Peninsula Macaroni Kid October 4, 2018

Does your kid love nature? Science? Investigating things? Consider signing them for this 6 week STEM class offered at New Day Academy in Port Townsend. The class is offered on Weds. from 1-2:30 p.m. (which provides an offering for kids who in the PT School District have a half day on Weds.).

The Private Eye program is a program about the drama and wonder of looking closely at the world, thinking by analogy, changing scale, and theorizing. It is designed to develop important habits of the mind, critical thinking skills, creativity, and scientific literacy. With a jeweler's loupe and a simple process, students develop important habits of the mind and the skills of writer, reader, of artist, scientist, and mathematician. In Private Eye observation blooms, critical thinking soars, and creativity flows as children look, write, read, speak, listen, draw, and theorize!

The 6 week class is $110.00 per student with a sibling discount if two or more sign up from the same family.

To register, call New Day Academy at 360-379-1334.
