DIY Moisturizer

Treat Your Skin Well This Season

By Shannon Williamson October 18, 2018

My favorite DIY moisturizer

The leaves are changing and so is the air. Are you feeling it? Fall and winter weather can suck the moisture right out of your skin. Fortunately, I have a solution I’m excited to share with you!

My skin drastically changed (for the better) when I finally realized all the garbage I was putting on my face wasn’t doing it any favors. Enter my favorite DIY moisturizer. So simple and affordable yet so luxurious. Look up what Frankincense alone does for the skin.

DIY facial moisturizer

Ingredients

·1/4 Cup shea butter

·1/2 C raw (solid) coconut oil

·15 drops Frankincense*

·10 drops Geranium*

·10 drops Lavender*

·1 tsp Jojoba oil (optional)

·1 tsp Vitamin E oil (optional)

Directions

1.In double boiler (or just put a bowl over boiling water), melt raw coconut oil & shea butter.

2.Remove from heat and let sit until cool.

3.Once cooled, add essential oils & vitamin E/jojoba (if using).

4.Mix, then pour into glass container (I like squat mason jars).

5.Place in fridge until it returns to solid.

6.Remove from fridge and whip with a hand mixer until fluffy.

7.Place back in glass jar with lid.

How to use:

Use morning and night after cleansing your face.

*Note: Not all essential oils are created equal. It is CRITICAL that you use pure oils as most are adultered and filling with ingredients you do not want on your face or in your bloodstream. I highly recommend Young Living essential oils because of their ethical standards and commitment to beyond-organic purity.
