Sleepy Time Night Cream

DIY

By Shannon Williamson, Chasing Wellness June 14, 2019

We camp a lot in the spring and summer, which means a less than stellar bedtime routine for the kids. When we get home, it takes a night or two to get them back on track. In addition to diffusing, we slather Sleepy Time Rub on both kiddos' feet during story time.

Most people know that Lavender is great for calming but Vetiver and Frankincense are lesser known oils. Vetiver is incredible at calming the mind and Frankincense is grounding. Add all three together for a natural way to induce calm and sleep!

Stories + foot rub + Sleepy Time Rub: NIGHTY NIGHT!!!

Sleepy Time Rub

Ingredients:

  1. ¼ cup Cocoa Butter
  2. ¼ cup raw Coconut oil
  3. 20 drops Lavender essential oil*
  4. 12 drops Vetiver essential oil*
  5. 10 drops Frankincense*

Directions:

  1. Add Coconut oil and Cocoa Butter to small pan and simmer until melted.
  2. Let rest on counter until almost cool but still soft.
  3. Add the essential oils to the pan, mix, and then place in fridge for an hour.

You want it to be firm but not too hard.

  1. Once firm, remove from fridge and whip on high with an electric mixer until the mixture softens and forms peaks.

How to use:
Take a small pea-sized amount and massage into feet before bed. Sweet dreams!
